Have you treated yourself to the hair color of your dreams before the vacations? Will it stand up to the sun? Are you planning to spend the summer by the pool or on the beach? In any case, you'll be enjoying the sun. But how do you preserve your hair color in the sun? Christophe Nicolas Biot gives you his pro tips...

Preserving traditional coloring in the sun

Traditional hair coloring is also known as " chemical hair coloring". The oxidation of hair from brown to blond can cause hair to change color under the effect of pool water, salt water or exposure to the sun. If you don't take care of it, you risk ending up with green highlights and damaged hair with a " straw effect " that's not very pleasant to the touch and not very aesthetic.

For browns, sea or pool water can turn the color red.

To avoid all this, you'll need to pack the right care products and protect your hair.

The huile sèche n°11 will be your best ally this summer for healthy hair.

Before you head out to bask in the sun, be sure to give your hair a deep conditioning treatment. Nourished and purified, your hair will be better able to withstand the sun, beach or pool.

In fact, the sun will alter the pH of the scalp, and dryness can trigger dandruff. And let's not forget that hair is often subjected to the stress of sea or pool bathing and exposure to the sun. As a result, hair can become thinner and fall out in larger quantities.

Pack specific shampoos and conditioners with UV filters, but be careful what you buy. Opt for the healthiest products possible. Also pack a hat and/or scarf to cover your head as much as possible. The wake-up colorcolor reviving spray, is the essential product for preserving and making your hair color last before returning to your hairdresser.

Preserving plant color in the sun

If you've opted for plant-based hair color, there's no risk of your color fading or getting unsightly highlights this summer. It's just that it won't last as long if you spend the whole day with your head under water... In any case, it's always advisable to wait at least 48 hours before putting your hair under water after coloring with plant-based hair color.

To preserve your plant color, take theBotanic ElixirElixir, which tightens the hair cuticle and strengthens the hold of plant color.

Before you leave, don't hesitate to visit your colorist and talk it over with him/her. He/she will advise you on the best products to use. What's more, he/she will force the color a little to make it last longer.
