He shares with you some moving and surprising anecdotes from his life in the salon.
The traveling customer
" In 2003, I was managing the luxurious Claude Maxime salon in Paris. I was styling the hair of a wealthy client who lived at the George V Hotel near the Champs-Élysées. She kept moving around, which made styling difficult. So I asked her gently, then more curtly, to stop phoning and be quiet. At the end of the service, the delighted client asked me if I was available the following month and if I could travel. Understanding that she wanted her hair done at the George V Hotel, I confirmed my availability. Three weeks later, she calls me for a blow-dry and tells me that my plane ticket will be sent to me. In fact, she brought me to New York for her blow-dry, and I followed her all over the world, sometimes for a simple blow-dry, sometimes for a cut and color!
Mélodie Gardot's sweet word
"I'm lucky enough to style the voluminous hair of jazz singer Mélodie Gardot. One day, I redid her hair color. She left the salon very happy and, two days later, I received the following message at home: " Hi Sweety, I woke up this morning with a light in my hair. I don't know what possessed you to come to earth, or what planet you're from, but I thank the Lord that you decided to spend some time on this earth. "I was so happy to receive such delicate attention. I treasure this message, which touched me deeply."
The heart selfie
"I've been lucky enough, since 2014, to be the artistic director of the SoGlam Wella Italy group. Last October, I gave a show in Italy. Exhausted as always at the end of a show, I take refuge in my dressing room to rest. My translator came to see me and asked me to receive a hairdresser who had been a member of the group for five years and who insisted on meeting me before leaving. I agreed, and found myself face to face with a seriously ill man who, knowing he was doomed, explained that he was overwhelmed with admiration for me because I had nurtured and developed his passion for hairdressing. We kissed and had our photo taken. It was a very intense and moving moment, which reminded me that we must make ourselves available and never neglect all those who follow our work and come to see us on stage. "You've given me so much happiness ," he said before leaving. I cried with emotion. Today, I often think of him, who died shortly after we met.
